Stand up tall

Stand up tall

This is a really simple one that gives you instant confidence.

Walking and standing with good posture will make you look more confident and in return will make you feel it too.

You don’t need to have your shoulders pulled right back like Liam Gallaghar; just walk with your head up (as if you have a right to be there - because you do).

Liam Gallaghar is from the band Oasis, by the way. I assumed everyone had heard of Oasis but recently found out there are many who haven't. I think I forget I'm 40 now because in my head I'm still 23. Alanis Morissette is another one of my faves that half my family are too young to know!

Anyway - I digress (you'll find that I do that allot).

So, back to the point of standing up tall. I often find that my shoulders randomly lift up. I have no idea why but when I consciously think about it – I almost always have to pull them down again because they have found themselves why too close to my ears.

It doesn't really matter much for the point I'm trying to make, but if you're conscious about your posture - I bet you'll find that your shoulders rise at times too.

Another trick is to roll your hips forward slightly. This will prevent your back from arching and will make your belly look instantly flatter too, so it’s a bit of a double win. I'm Ok at doing this whilst standing still but haven't quite managed walking at the same time (not without looking like I've sh*t myself anyway).

Remember - you don't have to look like you have a stick up your bum, just look forward instead of down or in other words - Keep your Pecker up!
